Last year I was invited to gain my CIPD Level 3 qualification in L&D. As someone whose entire working career has been involved in e-learning and all things technical, the opportunity to gain an insight into the wider world of learning was too good to turn down.
9 months and 1 certificate later, I emerged with a plan – utilise digital tools not just to deliver the training, but also to allow both learners and training administrators to identify where development is needed and also record and analyse the impact of any training on their roles in the workplace.
Fortunately I was given the support of the business and now, sometime later, I’m pleased to be able to say that these tools are now being used by our clients and the feedback has been extremely positive.
The platform now has:
- A customisable Skills Assessment tool that you can modify for the job roles within your organisation
- The ability to recommend learning (not just e-learning) when a need is identified
- Immediate allocation of e-learning if that is the most appropriate development activity
- Automatic logging of online learning to an individual's learning record and the ability to self-add any other training that's been completed
It’s a constantly evolving project and hence we’re always keen to get further feedback from those involved in L&D or HR who we see as potential users of this kind of solution, so……..
