The Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR) is the route to specialist registration for doctors who have not completed a GMC-approved training programme, but who are able to demonstrate that they have the knowledge, skills and experience (KSEs) required for practising as an eligible specialist in the UK.
Historically, the CESR (as it used to be known) directly mirrored and was assessed against the standards of the UK’s training programme. However, since November 2023, whilst the assessment standards have changed, the outcome of a successful Portfolio Pathway application remains the same; that’s why this session will be invaluable to delegates looking to start their journeys.
Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR) - is a way for doctors who have been at staff, speciality, or associate specialist grade to gain a specialist qualification. It also acts as a route to applying for consultant jobs for doctors who have not followed a speciality training programme in the United Kingdom and achieved a certificate of completion of training so applying through the Portfolio Pathway.
